Small Fly Rod 12/12/2013 4:59 pm 1WT - Love it! Casts well even in the breeze!
7'9" - 1WT 10/11/2013 8:36 am Had lots of backbone for such a light rod.
Sent from my iPad 9/23/2013 10:56 am Hi Keith, Hope all is well. I know we've talked about it before, but I just want to thank you again for setting me up this year with both the Sage TXLF 000wt and the Red Truck Diesel 1wt. I have had a blast with both outfits and caught some great fish with each. The RTD is fast becoming my favorite rod to fish. The Airflow 2wt line you rigged for me is superb and a great dry fly line. Because I did buy the rod to fill the 1wt niche, I ended up getting the Rio WF1 line to try and was not disappointed in anyway with how the rod handled that line....super, super quiet presentations to spooky trout! I just can't say enough about the overall balance and feel of that rod and reel combo...truly a great set up that I can now fish as 1 or 2 wt. Although I overdid the budget a bit this year for fly fishing, I couldn't be happier with what I got. If all goes well next year, I hope to be calling you to add the RTD 4wt you seem to like. I'm sold on the RTD product; the quality is fantastic, looks are classic and its a dream to cast! Thanks and take care!
1 weight outfits 7/19/2013 11:20 am All I can say is, WOW! Don't know who designs your rods, but that 1wt is beautiful! Had it out for some testing today and it is delightful to cast. Deadly straight on short stuff and can surprisingly let it out if necessary. If all your rods are this good, I'll be back for another! Thanks, again! Regards, Kurt
native trout 7/17/2013 10:35 am I really love fishing native trout, found abundantly in the mountain streams of California. Apart from their beauty, the native trout are known for their notorious, swift and cunning moves as well. Hooking on to one of them is indeed a tough task. On our 30th marriage anniversary, my wife gifted me a set of Red Truck fly fishing rod to nurture my fishing passion. I found this fly rod to be amazing. On the first fly fishing trial, as soon as the fly hit the surface of water, it was swiped by fishes. With this fly fishing rod, I was able to catch quite a few native trout. It has a superb design and a strong system of generating balance and leverage. If you are looking forward to investing your money in high quality, durable fishing equipment; I suggest you research no further. Red Truck fly rod is the ultimate solution for your needs.
dry fly stick 7/17/2013 10:05 am Red Truck fly rods turned out to be an excellent solution for ALL my dry fly fishing adventures. Having lived in California for so long, I have learnt that the best time to enjoy an adventurous dry fly session is either early in the morning or late in the evening. I decided to completely utilize these magic hours of the day with this 1wt-7ft-9inches user-friendly, dry fishing stick. Using this sick dry rod, I was able to have multiple good sessions that resulted in some really great stories. My house bros were really thrilled not only by its actions, but also by its tough looks that imbibe a strong promise years to come.
Fun Stuff 7/8/2013 1:28 pm My great uncle owns a cabin in Montana. There are lots of great streams within a reasonable drive. However, there's a wonderful, little creek (real tiny) that's literally in his back yard and no one fishes it. I tried my four weight on it and it felt like a club. I pretty much spooked every fish. Last season I decided to try this one weight from Red Truck. I love it! I can land a fly like it's truly a feather and I'm catching fish that others can't. I'm now hunting down the smallest streams like mad man and using my one weight more than my standard rod. It's like I've got private water all the time now. I highly recommend the small side of fly fishing to anyone. Oh, and when you hook a fish, it's super fun on this outfit!
Nice 1 weight! 7/8/2013 1:27 pm I was on the verge of getting the TXL-F by Sage when I stumbled upon the Red Truck 179-4 Micro Creek outfit. So glad I did! The Rod reminds me of something retro, but has such a soulful feel to it. I had an older Orvis Battenkill Reel but I decided to go with the complete outfit. Love the machining and quality of the Diesel. Chasing little brookies has never been so enjoyable!
Great small stream rod 4/18/2013 2:42 pm This is great small stream rod. It is super lightweight and perfect for roll casting and bow and arrow casting. Hoping to get the reel to match it!
