Being new to bonefish fly fishing, I wanted to invest in a decent fishing combo. I just drooped in the Leland store, and was amazed by the warmth and attention its staff gave me. Having good knowledge of fishing, the Leland staff helped me choose the right equipments. Today I can vouch on this fishing combo. A total value for money, Leland’s Red Truck Bonefish package has a fast shooting fly line, professionally rigged on a Loop sealed disc-drag. Also the rod is steady and easy to cast. Using this combo not only helped me catch some great fish, but also helped me enjoy the art of casting. Highly recommend it to all bonefish hunters.

The 8WT really is an amazing rod. I learned that the proper balance between the rod, reel and line really makes a huge difference. I really feel like this outfit makes me a better caster.

    Bone Rod

The Red Truck Diesel Bonefish outfit is my latest investment and I am really happy to describe it as an “investment”. The rod’s grip provides an instant feel about quality and performance. The grip is made up of premium quality cork and it complements my casting efforts. The 9-ft rod is light and this further makes casting effortless. Bonefishing has always fascinated me since my entry into the saltwater fly fishing sport and to be very honest, I struggled a lot to find the most appropriate rod-line-reel combo that would make my experience fulfilling. The result? “Mediocre” fly fishing tours! I came across this combo at the Leland Fly shop and I was really determined to give it a try. I had high expectations and I wanted to see the difference that combos create. On the first use, I could readily make out what separates a well-organized, high-quality combo from a low-quality, amateurish combo of gears. The rod has an elegant look and it comes with a ribbed finish and I am pretty assured about its durability. The drag works smoothly and helps me to fight large fish. I have used it for several times and my experience has improved in every trip. Practice makes perfect and I have been able to successfully use the combo to improve my casting techniques slowly and steadily.

    Solid Rod

Went bonefishing for the first time with a buddy of mine. I needed a bigger fly rod than my trout rods, so I did some reasearch online to find a bonefish fly rod. I bumped into this Red Truck. Never heard of them before, so I poked around online and found some good reviews. I fished this #8 rod on my bonefish trip and it worked like a champ. Had plenty of power for longer casts, but wasn't stiff in any way. I've also been using this rod for striped bass and it does the job well.
