Simms Guide Fleece Top is a "must-have" layer for any fly angler who fishes in cool to cold weather. That would be just about everybody! Wear this jacket by itself in cool weather, or under a shell in cold, or rain, for toasty comfort. At a light 16 ounces, this 4-way stretch fleece jacket is super-soft and moves when you do for athletic performance when casting or wading. The half-zip at the neck provides quick and easy temperature control, while keeping weight and extra bulk to a minimum. The drop tail on this jacket tucks neatly into your waders. If you should get this fleece wet, it dries faster than anything of comparable warmth value, and that's mighty important when your fishing in the fall and the winter. So cozy up to your new best friend when cool weather fishing calls; your Simms Guide Fleece Top is a no-brainer.
Moisture is no friend of mine. That should be every angler’s creed when it comes to keeping warm. Simms products are cut from materials that are rated tops in their class when it comes to wicking, quick drying, durability and resisting odor. For comfort in movement, Simms layering garments are constructed with either 2 or 4 way stretch materials. And to ensure proper fit, Simms layering garments come in sizes from Small to XX Large.
Remember, your waders and outerwear are only as good as what you wear under them!

I wear this in the winter over the waderwick top. This is all I need unless the temps drop into the 20's. Very warm. Be warned, if you do go swimming in this, it will absorb water and does not dry fast like the waderwick. Not the products fault, I don't think it was designed for swimming! Pocket useful for small camera or cell phone. 1/4 zip nice to let heat out or zip up to keep heat in.
please don't drop this

Great! Soft, warm, and light. Stretchy without being clingy. I urge Simms not to DC this item. It seems my favorite things in the outdoor industry get "improved" or dropped in favor of next season's model. This is perfect in every way. I'll order a second one just in case!

Layering is the name of the game. Usually wear an base layer, then my mid layer and lately- the Guide Fleece Top has proven more than enough on the water. If it gets breezy, I slip on my Simms Rogue Fleece to cut the wind, but the two of them together on a mild day can causeextra perspiration if you are crossing a lot of water or chasing down steelhead through dense cedar stands in Northern Michigan. Highy recommend buying one and keeping it in a dry bag in a storage compartment on your boat, it may come in very handy some day. Tight Lines, Koz
