Leland on the Simms Guide Boot Vibram StreamTread

The Simms Guide Wading Boot has long been the standard by which all other wading boots are measured. Simms has now taken on the task of updating this famous boot, and what an upgrade it is! There’s the addition of CleanStream™ design to help with the control of invasive species, use of modern materials like TekTuff™ and Schoeller®-dynatec mesh for increased abrasion resistance and comfort, a new improved fit with a hiking boot design, Nubuck leather to decrease shrinkage…we could go on about the improvements all day! And, now, You can experience the versatility of the amazing new StreamTred Sole.  The moral of this story is that the great original is now even better. When it comes to wading boots, the Simms Guide Boot provides unprecedented quality and comfort.

    The Simms Guide Boot
was due for a makeover and what a makeover it got! Water-resistant Nubuck leather and Schoeller®-Dynatec abrasion-resistant mesh panels increase the life of the wading boot as well. Nanosphere is then applied to both materials to help with the CleanStream™design. This all means easier cleaning and quick drying so less tag-a-longs creatures. The TekTuff™creates a more rigid, yet comfortable ankle pocket for increased support for the toughest wading conditions. The full neoprene lining and EEE width offer a great fit, while the EVA wedge and TPU molded foot plate add torsional support. The high-quality, non-corrosive brass hardware contributes to the efficient, speed lacing system. This version of the Guide features the remarkable StreamTread Sole from Vibram. When it comes to wading boots, the Simms Guide Boot is the first choice for fly fishers throughout the world.

Gude Boots 5/3/2013 9:56 am The Guide Boots are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Combined with the Alumibite Cleats I have great traction in the most challenging wading environments. I love the durability and extra support that the guide boot gives me!
Guide Boots 1/12/2013 7:45 pm Very comfortable from the start. With Stars and Studs I can just about walk up the side of a mountain. To avoid stiffening and shrinkage, dry slowly then soak with one of the liquid silicone leather dressings a few times a year.LIKE IT OR NOT EVERYTHING REQUIRES SOME TYPE OF MAINTENANCE
Guide Boot 1/12/2013 7:44 pm I have been through a lot of boots and never worn any out, but replaced them because I didn't like them. These are the best boots I have every owned, fish at least weekly in the rivers in Utah and find these the best boots ever. Comfortable while hiking and give great support in the water. If you need new boots buy these.
Outstanding 1/12/2013 7:44 pm Outstanding boot. Great fit, comfortable. Has good wearability. I fish mostly the Arkansas river and I have no studs. Steamtread has great traction. Great boot!!! Keep up the good work Simms.
AWESOME 1/12/2013 7:43 pm First time ever using a Simms product and I will never buy another brand again. Used the Guide Boot with cleats today fishing the veddar river in Chilliwack. Crossed the river in three feet of water and the balance I had was like no other. Thanks again SIMMS. Cant wait to buy more Simms Products.
good boots 1/12/2013 7:43 pm Boys!I fish 100+ days a year for salmon and steal-head and this are far the best boots i ever had.I fish all the rivers of S-Ontario and the boots are durable, comfortable, keep your feet warm and they give you a good grip. You pay the money but get what you pay for.On top of this you have Simms standing behind their products.I needed a repair after 2 years and they did not asked questions about this.
Boot Heaven 1/12/2013 7:40 pm I just finished up my first weekend in my new Guide boots and I just have to say they are amazing! I was surprised at how easy on and off they are as well as comfortable. I have the G4 pro waders and with these boots in combination it doesnt get any better than this. Ignore the cost people because this stuff is amazing and will be cheaper in the end anyway. I put the hardbite studs in the vibram sole and im very happy with the grip! The water was about 40 degrees and all I wore was a cheap and very thin sock and my feet were warm and toasty! Never settle for less my fellow fishermen these boots rock!
Bomber Wade Boots! 1/12/2013 7:33 pm These boots are simply bomber, and very comfortable for those long days! Gone are those cold winter days with twenty pounds of ice, snow, and mud on the bottoms of your feet. The Vibram souls grip well in all conditions, keep waters invasive-free, and are made tough.
well worth it 1/12/2013 7:32 pm I work for a state agency. We use the guide boot. I snorkeled rivers doing salmon counts. We crawl up rivers on our hands and knees for mile after mile. My boots were awesome. They had been used a couple of season and even after I hiked in them for over 100 miles and crawled up just as many miles on my hands and knees counting fry and chinook zeros they still looked and worked great. They are very comfortable and offer great support. I recommend the star cleat. I dont think the vibram sole and cleat are as nearly effective as felt, but the trade -off of not spreading invasive species is well worth it.
