When it comes to chasing steelhead, Leland Rod Co. would like to remind you that you won't catch a fish on every cast. With this honest announcement, we'd also like to remind you that casting a balanced two-handed outfit is the real joy when fly fishing for steelhead. This is the reason we designed the British Columbia Swing Outfit. It includes all you need to enjoy every cast and land the big one. Our efficient 13 foot 7 weight rod walks the fine line between a rod that lets you enjoy the average fish, yet still battle the trophies. We've even included an extra tip in this outfit. Although our fly rods are designed to be strong, one never can tell what will happen on a steelhead adventure. We've even assembled the perfect line system, leveraging Airflo's Scandi Compact (450 grain) and Skagit Compact (540 grain) heads. With your Skagit head, you can choose the perfect sink tip for your run from the included Rio MOW Tip Kit. We've professionally rigged this line system on our Leland British Columbia Steelhead Spey reel. Arguably one of the prettiest Spey reels on the planet. Finally, you've got a few tapered leaders to get you started on the quest for amazing casts and chrome.

Leland is the ultimate stop for me, when it comes to buying fishing equipments. I have rarely had any problems with the things that I brought from Leland. So when the staff over there showed me Leland’s steelhead swing fly fishing outfit, I was very sure that I am making the right investment. It is been three trips now, and this outfit has only added to my joy of casting. The 13’ rod is made from the best graphite blends, is perfectly balanced and is very good at casting. The reel is built in such a way that it can stand up and look better with each use. The Airflow double hand double hand shooting head is excellent at delivering the fly across the river. Needless to say this fishing outfit is the best package for those who like to swing for steelhead.

Leland taught me to cast ten years ago and their rods have been, since they came out, a craze amongst avid fishermen like me who appreciate a good casting rod. I had always been curious about the fishing equipments launched by this brand. I personally now feel that the Leland BC Spey is the perfect one spey rod for Steelhead fishing. The rod has been crafted keeping in mind all aspects of our sport. They have taken care of the grip, the blank flash, the action, the balance and given it timeless look. The length of this fishing rod is perfect for Spey. Those of you wanting to explore greater distances while fishing must first get a casting class at Leland and then enjoy the Leland Spey Rod designed around their style of teaching . As a regular shopper at Leland and Red Truck fly fishing, I strongly feel that their products, service and understanding of what anglers need is unmatched in other fly shops and rod brands.

I borrowed my friend’s Leland Spey for a trial and after just one shot; I fell in love with the equipment. I found this spey thing to be simply miraculous. I was delighted as I discovered the multiple benefits of this long fishing rod. I was able to cover greater distances of water and dredge greater depths in less than half the normal time. I really liked the thoughtfully designed cork grip that made my experiences comfortable. Now, I have my own Leland spey. The entire set contains 4 pieces and I found all the components to be finely crafted and designed. My fishing experience with the British Columbia Spey has been really awesome and I strongly recommend it to all my fly fishing comrades.
