    Tarpon Fly Fishing

    Tarpon Fly Rod:

You just arrived at your favorite Tarpon trail in the Keys. The guide stakes the boat and the waiting game begins. As you BS with your buddy the guide remains vigilant. Eyes squinted searching the horizon as if he were Ponce de Leónlooking for the first sight of land. You see the guide’s expression change and know something is up. Quickly you run through your Tarpon maxims you have acquired over the years. Lead ‘em, strip set, bow, and fight with the butt of the rod. Just as soon as the guide gives the ok, you make your cast and it’s on the money. You let your fly sink down to the level of the fish and begin stripping. A 90 pounder darts to your fly and you know you're in for it. You see the fish inhale you fly and you strip set HARD. Tarpon on! TARPON ON! You feel the dip down and you know the jump is coming… Maybe you will land it maybe you won’t after all it’s the Silver King.

Tarpon Tamer! 3/6/2014 12:43 pm Leland’s Red Truck, 12wt was gifted to me by my wife. She knows that I love hunting Tarpon and was in search of a good reliable rod. Today I am proud of my wife’s choice. In spite of having used this line for several times now, the line is still as good as new. It is strong and steady and helps me land the trophy. The front taper can turn over a heavy-gage leader and fly with authority. This line helped me to make efficient, accurate and effortless casts and has jumped some fantastic fish. Five star for this package.
The Silver King 12/16/2013 2:21 pm I usually get my fishing equipments from Leland. And when I saw that these guys were selling Red Truck branded products, I was sure about the quality. Without thinking twice, I ordered a Tarpon fly rod for my next trip. And the experience which I had was just amazing. Tarpon are known for giving a tough fight. And getting hold of them requires a powerful rod and an equally good cast. And this fishing rod has all of it. The rods taper has a dynamic bend which helps deliver the fly precisely even if the winds are rough. What I also like is that the rod is made of sea water safe components like anodized aluminum and titanium hardware. Over all buying this was a very good investment for me, and I will recommend it to all passionate tarpon fly fishers.
Tarpon Tamer 7/25/2013 1:42 pm Been chasing tarpon for 5 years now. Can't think of any other fish. I was visiting my brother in California a while back and we went to a local fly fishing show. Ran into the Red Truck guys there and they seemed cool. I cast some of their rods at the pond and really liked the #12. Bought one at the show and took it home. Been fishing it for over a season now and it's a great casting fly rod. Super light and with plenty of power, I have to congratulate the boys from CA for making what I consider to be a great tarpon rod.
