My Primary Rod

Been two handing for about 10 years now and have owned about six different two-handers...Sage, TFO, Winston. They are all really good rods, but I heard about the Cross S1. I was told that this model would be a great rod for both summer and winter steelhead. It's now my favorite rod. It casts Scandi heads like a dream...butter smooth and can still turn over the Skagit heads and tips I use during the winter. I think this is due to the deeper flex taper. This rod somehow flexes deep into the lower part of the rod, yet the tip is fast for a super efficient cast. I even have more time to relax during my casting stroke. Loop is onto something with this series of rods and I hear they have a few more models on deck, but this one is still my favorite. If you can spend the money, get this rod.
