Our British Columbia Switch rod is best described as a compact Spey rod. It's the perfect choice for smaller waters and a wide range of casts. From overhead to underhand, single Spey to Double Speys, Perry Pokes to Snake Rolls, this little rod can cast them all with ease. Designed from the ground up to be balanced and efficient, it's the perfect rod choice for a long day of enjoyable, repetitive casting. Sure, you'll eventually catch a steelhead, but the way we look at it, at Leland Rod Co., you might as well enjoy every cast between your catches, too.

I own several two handed fly rods, but I needed a slightly shorter rod for a couple of my favorite rivers...like the Trinity. Way, way, way too many rods to test, so I called a lot of fly shops and made a list of possible rods. The list was pretty long until I called Leland and they only had one rod to recommend...strange, only one rod. Was going to stop buy for a test cast and they said they'd just ship me the rod to cast at home. If I didn't like it, I could send it back for a refund. Pretty cool. I cast the rod at home, love it there...loved it on the Trinity and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a shorter two-hander. Beyond awesome to cast and fish, it's finished ulike anything I saw in other shops.

I used the Leland trade in program to get this rod outfit. I've been swinging flies for years but never have used a switch rod because I thought they sacrificed distance. The BC is the one! Back here again drooling over new gear. Ran out of used rods for trading in.
